With hearts full of joy, we invite you to stand with us beneath the eucalyptus and the bright January sun of Addis — as our two families become one.
Together with our parents

“ፍቅር ያሸንፋል” — love prevails; today it gathers us all under one sky.
ውድ ቤተሰብ እና ወዳጆች — dear family and friends,
It began over macchiatos on Bole Road — Liya laughing at Dawit’s terrible directions, Dawit pretending to be lost so the walk would last longer. One macchiato became a hundred; the long way home became ours.
Last Meskerem, on Entoto’s hillside — eucalyptus in the air and adey abeba gold underfoot — Dawit asked. Liya’s yes echoed all the way down the mountain. Now we want you beside us for the loudest, warmest day of our lives.
With all our love,Liya & Dawit
After the vows, the jebena sings — beans roasted over coals, incense curling through the garden, and three rounds poured in every guest’s honour.
Sunday we gather again — kaba and head jewellery, laughter and eskista, hosted with love by Liya’s family in Old Airport.

Habesha Formal — traditional dress warmly encouraged, elegance essential.
A habesha kemis with tibeb borders would honour us — or gowns in ivory, gold or forest. A netela for the ceremony is beautiful.
A suit in forest, black or stone — or traditional dress with a woven netela over the shoulder.
Kindly reply by the First of December, 2026.
Your reply is on its way to Liya & Dawit. እናመሰግናለን — we can’t wait to celebrate with you.
Truly — having you there is everything. Should you wish to give something more, a contribution toward our honeymoon in Lalibela and the Simien Mountains would be lovingly received.
