The Laurent family requests the pleasure
Sixty years, golden hour

For sixty years she has set the table, kept the stories, and poured the last glass. This September, above the vines at the hour she loves best, it is our turn to pour for her.

Hosted with love by
The Laurent family — Camille, Théo & Juliette

“The vines keep the secret — the longer the light, the sweeter the year.”

The Woman of the Hour

Sixty is not a number to Marguerite — it is a table that keeps getting longer. She is the reason the kitchen door at Solene never quite closes, the keeper of her grandmother’s tarte recipe, the woman who taught all of us that a glass raised slowly says more than a speech.

So while the vines are heavy and the light is at its most forgiving, we are setting her the longest table yet — on her own terrace, at her own golden hour. No gifts, no fuss, no surprises she hasn’t approved. Just everyone she loves, in the good light.

A toast, sixty years in the making
Sixty years, six chapters
The Decades
1967
Arrives in Lyon two weeks early, mid-harvest — impatient for a good table ever since.
1978
The summer of the yellow Vespa: Lyon to the coast with a corkscrew in the glovebox and no particular plan.
1989
Lands in San Francisco with two suitcases, the tarte recipe, and Henri’s number on a napkin.
1996
Plants the first six rows of chardonnay at Solene on a dare. Wins the dare. Names the terrace after the light.
2008
Teaches Juliette to drive on the vineyard road. The mailbox has never fully recovered.
2016
Three grandchildren asleep under the fig tree by four o’clock — her definition, on record, of a perfect afternoon.

2027 — golden hour. Her favourite chapter is the one with everyone in it. Come be in it.

In place of gifts
No gifts — bring a story

Sixty years collects enough things. What she wants is the table full and the stories told — so bring one memory of Marguerite, on a page or a photograph, for the book we are binding that night. It will be read aloud. Choose accordingly.
