With joyful hearts, we invite you to join us for our khotba — the formal celebration of our engagement — in a lantern-lit riad courtyard deep in the Marrakech medina, as our two families come together.

“As the lanterns brighten, so does the road ahead” — a promise made, a family widened, a courtyard full of light.
Dear family and friends,
It began over mint tea on a rooftop near Jemaa el-Fnaa — Yasmine correcting Karim’s Darija, Karim pretending not to notice the mistakes so the afternoon would last longer. One glass of atay became a whole pot; the rooftop became the place we returned to, again and again.
Our families have since sat together, shared a meal, and given their blessing — and now we’re overjoyed to formalize it all with a khotba, a small and cherished first step, before the wedding to come. We want you there with us, glasses raised, as the lanterns come up over the courtyard.
With love and gratitude,Yasmine & Karim
As dusk settles over the riad, the barrad — the silver-plated brass teapot — is poured from a foot above the glass, raising a foam “turban” atop the atay. It is Morocco’s oldest gesture of welcome, offered tonight to every guest who has come to bless our khotba.
A khotba is the first formal step toward marriage — the families gather, blessings are spoken, gifts are exchanged, and a wedding date is set. It is intimate by design: not the wedding itself, but the promise that opens the road to it.

Elegant, modest, and celebratory — warm colour is welcome.
A kaftan or takchita would honour the evening beautifully, or a modest gown in terracotta, brass or zellige blue. Shoulders and knees covered, please — and we’d love to save all-white for Yasmine’s wedding day.
A tailored suit or a djellaba in stone, terracotta or brass tones — smart and warm, nothing head-to-toe black.
Kindly reply by the First of October, 2026.
Your reply is on its way to Yasmine & Karim. Shukran — we can’t wait to celebrate with you.
Truly — having you there to share tea with us is everything. Should you wish to give something more, a contribution toward our new home would be lovingly and gratefully received.
