He'd asked to walk the long way home. The city had gone quiet the way it does right at dusk, streetlights just catching, and I didn't think anything of the slight weight in his jacket until he stopped walking. The ring had been in his breast pocket the entire evening — through dinner, through two nervous glasses of wine, through his hand finding every excuse to rest over his heart.
I said yes before he finished the sentence. So now, before the wedding, we want one perfect evening just for this — a rooftop, the sky doing that same merlot fade, and everyone we love in one room to toast it properly.

A dark suit or dusk-plum dinner jacket, open collar or a merlot tie. A boutonnière in candlelight gold is a nice touch.
