Her Story

Dear family and friends,

Maya arrived on the Drillfield as a wide-eyed freshman who got lost finding Burruss Hall on her very first day. Somewhere between all-nighters in Newman Library, a research position she talked her way into as a sophomore, and far too much dining-hall coffee, Blacksburg stopped being a place she was passing through and started being home.

This May she'll walk across that same Drillfield in a cap and gown, hand over a well-worn student ID, and receive the diploma she's earned four years running. We could not be prouder, and we would love nothing more than to have you there to see it.

With so much love,The Carter Family

A note on gifts
Your presence is the present

Honestly, having you there to see Maya cross the stage is more than enough. If you'd still like to send something, a contribution toward her first apartment or her student loans would be gratefully received.
